Court-Approved Jail-Based ASAM Assessments
We are court-approved to enter local correctional facilities to conduct ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) Assessments for individuals who are currently incarcerated. These assessments are completed in coordination with the defendant’s attorney and are designed to support court proceedings, diversion programs, treatment recommendations, and alternative sentencing considerations.
What This Service Provides
Our jail-based ASAM assessments offer a comprehensive, clinically sound evaluation of an individual’s substance use history, mental health needs, and level of care recommendations in accordance with ASAM criteria the gold standard used by courts, probation, and treatment providers nationwide.
This service is especially valuable when:
- An attorney needs a professional, unbiased clinical assessment for court
- A defendant is seeking treatment-focused alternatives to incarceration
- The court requires documentation to support rehabilitation-based recommendations
- A client is unable to access services due to current incarceration
How the Process Works
- We coordinate directly with defense counsel to ensure court and case-specific needs are met
- We obtain facility approval and conduct the assessment on-site within the jail
- The assessment includes a full ASAM multidimensional evaluation
A formal written report is provided for court use, including:
- Clinical findings
- ASAM level-of-care recommendations
- Treatment rationale aligned with legal and rehabilitative goals
